Sorry for anybody who doesn't follow my other social media accounts, you're probably out of the loop! I've been slowly getting busier since mid-October. We had our last month of dry-land training (rollerskiing, hiking, running, etc.). Honestly, we had super nice weather in Lake Placid for the past month, essentially. It was a bit grosser once November hit, but that's typical.
We finally saw our first snow in the Adirondacks, which always makes me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning. It's the first signs that winter is just around the corner, which means race season for me! It wasn't nearly enough to ski on, so we headed north to Foret Montmorency (which is just north of Quebec City) for some on-snow ski training.
First snow of the season!
Can you tell I'm psyched that it finally feels like winter?
It was a nice little trip. The snow was in decent shape, with just about 2-ish kilometers of skiing to be had (one loop would take about 8 minutes to ski). It felt great to be back on the skis, I always forget how much better I feel on real snow rather than just rollerskiing.
After our last ski in Foret, which was race-pace intervals, we packed up the van and headed back to Lake Placid. From there, I quickly packed up my car and headed home for the night. The following day (yesterday) I traveled to Boulder, Colorado to spend some time with my boyfriend and best friend before I really get the season rolling!
Happy to be back on skis
I'll be here for a few days, and then I travel up to Canmore, Alberta, Canada for an on-snow training camp to prepare for our IBU Cup Trials in Minnesota mid-December. It's crazy that the season has snuck up on us already! I'm excited to be traveling again, skiing in my favorite places, racing, and watching the World Cup!
I'll be keeping my Results Page updated with my races this season, along with my Facebook and Instagram pages if you're interested in following along! This blog will be updated about once every few weeks, so stay tuned!
